Malayan Metal Works(MMW) was founded by Mr See Chong Meng in 1957 as a propretorship,propretorship, business. It was located at a rented godown at No. 3610, Jalan Bagan Dalam, Butterworth. Initially, MMW only made cans for packing kerosene, edible oil, tea, coffee powder and biscuits.

In 1969, MMW built its own factory at No. 4444, Jalan Permatang Pauh, Butterworth, Penang. Its product range was then increased to include other market segments such as paint, cocoa powder, cereal products and other tinplate powder.

In 1973, MMW was incorporated as Malayan Metal Works Sdn Bhd and its business expanded further.

In 1985, MMW shifted to a much larger industrial lot in Prai-No. 2444, Lorong Perusahaan Satu, Prai, Industrial Estate, 13600 Perai. 45 Gallon Drums and Tapered Pail Lines were added to the range of products.

Today, MMW is the only factory in the Northern Region offering such a wide range of metal packaging products; from small cans to large steel drums of all shapes and sizes, catering for dry food and chemical products.

1985 年, MMW 迁移到较大的工业单位，位於Prai-No. 2444, Lorong Perusahaan Satu, Prai, Industrial Estate, 13600 Perai。
产品范围增加了45 加仑鼓和细桶。

今天, MMW 是Northern Region 唯一厂家提供广大范围金属包装的产品; 从小罐头至所有形状和大小大钢鼓, 用于盛装干燥食品和化学制品。
